Crabtree & Evelyn 'Handy Tips' Event - Nottingham

Evening everyone!

So on Friday evening, I had the pleasure of attending Crabtree & Evelyn's 'Handy Tips Handed Down' event. This event was slightly special to me as it was my first bloggers event, *gasp*! Thankfully everyone was so lovely and I felt so welcome and at home :). Anyway, the handy tips event has been popping up at Crabtree & Evelyn stores across the country, so you may have seen bloggers writing about this already! The event called for us to bring our own beauty tips along, write them down and then stick them on a makeshift tree, effectively passing them on to more people :)

Nottinghams Crabtree & Evelyn Store.

I had heard about this event via twitter, where I had been talking to Gemma (Beautiful Things) and she had invited me along. As it was my first event I was ridiculously nervous about it (newbie blogger I know), but Gemma was absolutely lovely about it and offered for her and Leah (Peaches and Smoke) to meet me beforehand. Phew! We were a bit unsure of just walking straight into the store, so instead we waited outside for a while getting some shots before being joined by the other girls.

When we went inside we were greeted by the friendly team in store, as well as Jamie (Beauty Rocks) who had organised everything along with Gemma. We were talked through some of the items in store and shown the tree, which had already been around a few stores before us and picked up some tips.

Everything looked so appealing, I could honestly have spent a fortune in store! The lovely staff had also put on a gorgeous spread for us all:

Drinks and food put out for us - some of it supplied by Pret  a Manger (next door to C&E).

As well as the food and a look round the store, we were treated to hand treatments and massages, which was a lovely treat after a long stressful week! My hands are quite often neglected between studying and working, and after the massage my hands felt amazing and really soft. Before the massage my hands were scrubbed, and Crabtree & Evelyn have a variety of scrubs in different scents. Being a lover of pomegranate, I opted for the Pomegranate, Argan and Grapeseed Hand Recovery Scrub (£16.00), before following it up with the matching Hand Therapy (£20.00). After getting the massage my hands felt so soft and smooth, and smelt delicious!

Afterwards, I browsed round the store some more and added some items to my 'next payday' and 'when I'm rich' wishlist. One day I swear...

Anyway, the main reason for the event was the 'Handy Tips Handed Down' event. We brought tips handed to us from our parents, grandparents etc, and wrote them down on a 'leaf' before placing it on the tree, to be passed on to more people :)

The Tips Tree and my Tip!

My tip was:
"When moisturising feet, put on a pair of bed socks at night - your feet will feel super soft after!"

Meeting other bloggers was amazing, and everyone was honestly so nice and welcoming that my nerves soon were eased!

Overall the evening was perfect, I can't tell you enough how much I loved it. I have my eye on a few items (mainly the ones used in the hand treatments and massages). I'm also tempted to get something for my dad for fathers day, there was such a cute display of items specifically for it!:

At the end we got a lovely gift bag too, with some samples in and even a nail polish (I didn't even know Crabtree & Evelyn did nail polishes, but I can't wait to try it out):

In the bag I got:
- Pear and Pink Magnolia Body Lotion
- Tomato Nail Lacquer

- Orange & Cadamom Milk Chocolate

- Avocado, Oil and Basil Hand Therapy

So there it all is :) I can't wait to try it all out!
Thank you to all the lovely people at Crabtree & Evelyn for having us, and to Gemma and Jamie for organising it all!
