I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22!

Afternoon!

So as those of you that follow me on Twitter & Instagram know, I recently celebrated my 22nd birthday (heading straight into retirement any day now). I didn't plan much for my birthday, as in all honesty I was just glad to have the day off work after working everyday now for as long as I can remember. But my parents were lovely and super sweet and suggested a meal with a couple close friends, and of course my lovely best friend Carrie. So off we headed to a local restaurant, 'The Bulls Head' in Breaston.

Obviously with it being my birthday, alcohol had to be involved somewhere right?! But as I had work the next day (and the fact that I did not want to have a horrific hangover), I settled for a glass of Prosecco. It came in its own cute, small bottle too!

For the starter me and Carrie shared a cute plate of Nachos. They were nice, but we both felt that they would have been better with jalapenos and some sour cream!

As for my main, I went for the 'Stilton Steak'. I had the steak rare like usual, but what I found delicious was the Stilton cheese sauce that covered it! I've never had anything like it, and when we next go back there I already know what I'm having!

As per usual with regards to dessert, I went for the chocolate fudge cake (warm, with ice cream). No matter where I go, I will always have the chocolate fudge cake if it's on the menu. It's my kryptonite!

And obviously, girls being girls, we had to take a few selfies! 

With regards to my outfit, I have to say I'm super happy with the combination! The blue blazer I had actually been eyeing up for ages in Tesco, and I was thrilled when it came down in the sale, immediately snagging the only one in my size left. As for the white dress, I had originally planned to wear some bright jeans with the blazer. But after browsing (again in Tesco), I saw this summery dress (for only £16) and immediately fell in love with it. The material is lovely and soft, and feels so light on and really flattering. The waist is cinched in too which added a perfect bit of detail. 

As far as accessories go, I have to admit I nabbed my mums bag (she has such an amazing collection, honestly). It's actually the bag I brought her for her birthday (guilty) from a local shop in my town, called 'Shoe Mad'. They have some amazing bags in there! As for jewellery, I stuck with my pandora bracelet, and my gorgeous new earrings my parents brought me for my birthday.

Makeup wise, I kept it quite neutral as it was lovely and summery out, so I didn't want to go too overboard with my makeup. I actually used my new Benefit makeup for this soft look (the haul post can be found here).

So there it is! I had a lovely day for my 22nd and couldn't have spent it better. Much thanks to my amazing parents and of course my best friend!
