A while ago now, I had the fantastic delight of attending the #NorthernBloggerMeetUp in Sheffield. The day ended up being one of the best events I've attended since starting blogging, as I managed to socialise with a lot of fellow bloggers, and even made firm friends with some.
In addition to this, I was also spoilt rotten with some of the goodies in the gift bag, especially with the make up products kindly gifted in each bag from Xenca. Including this gorgeous product - the Perfection Lipstick in the shade 'Cherry'*.
My first thought when I saw this product was that it was bizarre to see make-up packaged in all cardboard. Afterall, I'd never seen any brands do this before and I thought it was unique and different.
After attending the #NottsMeetSep14 last month, I was gladly given more of an insight into why this was. The fantastic Suzie from Xenca gave us a passionate talk about the brand, and informed us that the packaging is entirely recyclable and better for the environment. Whilst at first it feels a bit weird after using plastic containers for so long, it's not hard to get used to. My only issue would be if it were to get wet somehow - I'd hope that its durable enough to withstand that!
The colour is a bright vibrant red, and is absolutely stunning in my opinion. It has a smooth consistency and glides on like a dream, and really gave my lips a fantastic pop of colour. Since applying this lipstick I've completely fallen head over heels for it - if only I could get away with wearing it at work, I swear I'd never be parted from it!
The staying power for this is absolutely unbelievable too. Since applying it this morning, I've been shopping, ate twice and had countless drinks throughout the day and it doesn't seem to have budged. Amazing. There was a little transfer between my lips and the glass, but on my lips the colour doesn't seem to have moved at all. Perfect!
What do you guys think? I adore it, and I can't wait to see if they bring out more colours in their 'Perfection' range - currently there's 3 others available; 'Fudge', 'Spice' and 'Candy'.
