A while ago now, I did what was to be my first ever beauty haul (which can be found here). My friend Carrie picked up the 'Cupcake' face mask, and since then I have been pretty much haunted by how good it smelt! As such, I knew I had to get it myself at some point.

£6.50/75g
"Chocolate heaven for oily and teenage skin. Helps absorb excess oil and calm breakouts. Cocoa butter, linseed and cocoa powder soften with balancing peppermint, spearmint and sandalwood oils."
My skin is one of the most annoying things I suffer with, especially on my face; one day it will be ridiculously dry, and the next I'll suffer with oils. I can never win! Recently though it has been more on the oily side, and as such I have suffered with a couple of nasty breakouts here and there (yuck).
Cupcake promises to help with the excess oil and help tame breakouts, and with some of the redness I was suffering with I couldn't wait to give it a try.

The first thing I was surprised by is the consistency. It's really thick, and after leaving it in the fridge it was so cold that when I applied it to my face I couldn't help but squeal a little! The second time I used it, thankfully I left it out a few minutes before so it wasn't quite so cool. Plus, it was easier to spread across my face.
As I mentioned before, this smells absolutely fantastic. So much so that I have to remind myself it's not for eating! I'm a huge chocolate lover (isn't everyone?) so this was obviously an instant sell for me. It smells fantastic when you apply it, but not much of the scent lingers after removal...which is probably a good thing or it would constantly be making me hungry. As well as cocoa powder, the mask also contains fresh mint to help stimulate the skin, and linseed and cocoa butter to aid in moisturising.
When it comes to face masks, I really have to be careful with what products I use as some of them can be really harsh on my skin. Thankfully with Cupcake, I had no reason to be worried - it felt amazing and fresh on my skin, and really gentle. The redness I'd been suffering from was dimmed, and my skin felt amazingly soft afterwards.
Overall, this is definitely a face mask I'll be rebuying again in the future as it did wonders for my complexion. Oh, and here's a fantastic photo of me with it on for you all to see how thick it is and have a good giggle;

How about you, have you tried Cupcake before? What are your thoughts? Or any other face mask recommendations?

This face mask never really appealed to me, but I might have to give it try though. My favourite lush face mask though is Catastrophe Cosmetic, it smells amazing!

I'm a complete convert now haha! My first one was the Oatifix one they do, but the cupcake one is so much better in my opinion :) xo
Oooh I haven't used that one yet, might have to add it onto the Christmas wish list ;) xo
I'm completely obsessed with Lush now, I just can't get enough! xo
