The Body Shop 'Tickle Me Pink' Hair Chalk Review

Dino's Beauty Diary - The Body Shop Tickle Me Pink Hair Chalk

Back in June, I celebrated my 22nd birthday (and right about now I feel twice as old). As well as being spoilt rotten with presents, I got quite a few gift cards and went on a bit of a shopping splurge! Among all the clothes I brought, I couldn't resist purchasing this Body Shop Hair Chalk in 'Tickle Me Pink' for £5.00.

For ages I'd been lusting after pink hair, and I mean for a very, very long time. Unfortunately due to my job, I'm quite restricted in what I can do with my hair. Whilst I've seen girls at my work place sporting some very questionable hair colours, I know if I attempt anything like it I'd get pulled up on it myself - they state they want hair looking 'natural'.

So the promise of this chalk was perfect for me. It promised a quick and easy mess-free application, and will wash out easily after use. So I could actually apply this on my days off, before washing it out the same night and still looking natural for work the next day. Perfect.

You're supposed to put a towel round your shoulders when using this to protect your clothing from any transfers. Me being me, I didn't read the instructions and instead jumped straight into it in just my bra (lovely image for you guys there). It takes some getting used to at first as it is quite fiddly to get an even coverage across the hair. I went for a dip dye look and I had to go over the tips a few times to get the bright kind of colour I wanted. Thankfully I got used to the application after a few times, and the colour did transfer to the hair nicely - with excess chalk landing on my bedding, oops.

Once it's been applied you brush the hair to get rid of any excess, before applying hair spray to make the colour stick. I have to say I was paranoid about the colour staining my shirt when I put it on so I applied quite a fair bit of hair spray just to ensure it would stay put.

The colour looked absolutely fantastic and I can't fault it one bit, I absolutely love how bold it looked and I was finally chuffed to have pink tips! However, my only problem with this was even after the hair spray, the colour managed to transfer. Thankfully I was wearing a dark shirt (my football shirt as I was off to watch my beloved reds play) so it wasn't too noticeable. However if I were to wear a light shirt then I could see it being a issue.

That's not to say I won't be using it more in the future as I will, I guess I'll just have to be a bit more careful!

So there it is! What do you think? I love the pink and I definitely want to be sporting this look a bit more often! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below :)

I love it! I actually really want to try something like this. I've always wanted pink hair but I'm afraid of dying it and not liking. I think chalk like this is a great way to test it out and see if you like it or not :)

Ah it looks so good! What a great idea, I think my hair is a little too dark for it to be as prominent but I still want to try it! xx
