Paris Diary | Day Four: Artsy and Cultured - Musée du Louvre

One of the things I was most excited about when we visited Paris was attending the Louvre. Home to some of the world's most amazing exhibits and paintings, I couldn't wait! And who could forget the Mona Lisa?

 

For me, one of the best exhibits had to be the Egyptian exhibit. Since I was young I've always been fascinated by Egyptian history, and this was no exception. There's countless antiquities as well as a real mummy! I have to say, this I was not expecting and it gave me the shudders a little bit. But it was fascinating seeing one with my own eyes.

The architecture inside is absolutely beautiful, but I figured I shouldn't bore you all with hundreds of pictures of it! And of course being there, we had to see the Mona Lisa. Thankfully we seemed to have picked a quiet day, and there weren't that many people gathered round it like we expected. 

I must say, it's smaller than I imagined. And behind a glass casing, behind a wooden rail, behind a elasticated line. Not what I was expecting at all! Overall the day was amazing, as well as exhausting. We'd done well in taking other peoples advice and dedicating an entire day to the Louvre, its huge. We also ate at a restaurant inside the Louvre, which was something different I guess!
