Makeup Revolution 'Golden Sugar' Ultra Blush & Contour Palette

Dino's Beauty Diary - Makeup Review - Makeup Revolution 'Golden Sugar' Ultra Blush and Contour Palette

Before blogging, I'd never spent much time on my makeup. I'd simply dab on some eyeshadow and eyeliner before heading about my day. Since starting my little corner of the internet last year, I'm thankful to say I now have a full makeup routine (thank God!). And that includes something I'd never really used before blogging: Blusher.

A while back, myself and the lovely Hannah organised the #BloggersSecretSanta14 and decided we'd be paired together for the Secret Santa element. As part of my gift, I received the gorgeous 'Golden Sugar' blush palette.

Packaging wise, the colours come in a gorgeous sleek black case with the typical gold writing. There's a mirror on the inside for close up application, or doing make-up on the go.

The colours range from a gorgeous shimmering white with a golden undertone that could be used as a highlighter, to a deep brown that looks perfect for a deep contour. My favourite has to be the second colour from the left on the top row, which is a beautiful delicate pink with a nice golden glow. Quite similar is the third colour, which is more of a deep pink with a soft undercurrent of pearl.

The fourth colour on the top row is a gorgeous matte-like bronze, which I would personally use as a light contour shade or for a nice eyeshadow. First on the bottom row is a soft gold, which I use as a light highlighter. Second is a deeper, more shimmering gold which seems more like an eyeshadow shade to me, rather than one to use on the cheeks. Finally the third pan is a bold, copper colour, which could be used on the cheeks for a strong glow.

From right to left, the lightest to darkest shades.
The palette lives up to it's name as all the shades are stunning golden shades with pearl undertones. On first look it appears as if there are two matte shades, however on application they do come out with a softer shimmer. I'm thoroughly impressed with the palette and how the colours really help to define the face, and it seems like great value for money.

Do you own the Golden Sugar palette? Which ones would be your favourite shades? Let me know in the comments below.

If you're interested in the palette, it can be purchased here for £6.00.
