Not too long ago, myself and a couple of my best blogging friends hosted the #BloggersUniteSummer15 event at Eat Eten café in Sheffield. We could hardly believe it the night before - months and months of planning, and even then we were packing gift bags all the way up until midnight.
After finishing the bags shortly before midnight, we all settled down to watch the new season of 'Orange is the New Black.' Needless to say, after the long day we'd had with travelling and organising, we didn't last long before heading to bed. Excitement got the better of me, and in short, I was up at 4 that morning and couldn't get back to sleep.
The venue we had settled on was the gorgeous little café in the town centre, Eat Eten Café Bistro. After a few wrong turns and guesses, myself and my co-hosts Hannah and Frankie finally arrived (with the help of Liam and Alex of course - I don't think we could have coped without them! Massive thank you guys.)
As well as having brand talks, we had chosen to use the event as an opportunity to raise money for Look Good, Feel Better. I'm pretty sure most people are familiar with the charity, but for anyone who isn't, they're a charity that supports women with cancer worldwide. They are dedicated to helping cancer sufferers with their self-esteem and confidence, through workshops focusing on the visual side of cancer treatment. It's a truly worthwhile cause, and I'm so glad we had the opportunity to help raise money for them.
Lunchtime rolled around a heck of a lot quicker than we thought, and it was soon time to get our first little warm up session underway. For something different, we went with a kind of 'speed dating' set up - and from the girls that have already posted their event posts, a lot of them were dreading this idea!
With Bloggers Unite, our main primary focus is to get bloggers interacting with each other - all three of us know how easy it is to just stick to a few people and not really mingle, and that's something we really wanted to get rid of at our events. And so the speed dating idea was born! At first it seemed a little awkward, but thankfully once the ball got rolling everyone seemed to really open up and Frankie even had to shout to get everyone to swap once the two minutes were over!
After a brief break and natter, we got down to the brand talks. Overall, we had four brands attending to give talks and promote their products; Keratin Revolution, Noir Caviar Hair, Infinatura and MooGoo Skincare. I'm not going to say much here as I have something else planned regarding these brands - so keep your eyes peeled!
After the brand talks, we finally got round to the raffle. We had some fantastic items donated to us from a variety of shops and brands, and I honestly can't thank them enough for being so generous. We had items from brands such as w7, Burts Bees, Billion Dollar Brows, MooGoo and Clarins to name just a few!
The bloggers that attended were so generous too, and I'm pretty sure everyone got involved and brought tickets. Altogether, with the raffle and LGFB badges being sold, we raised an impressive amount of money for our chosen charity. Thank you to everyone that got involved!
Overall, I'm so thrilled with how well our event went and with all the people that attended. We can't thank you all enough for your kind words and posts regarding our events, it means so much to us that you all enjoyed yourselves! And of course, these are the people that made the day so special:
