Christmas is almost here. The weather is getting colder, the nights are getting longer, and theres only just over a month or so left until Christmas Day. I may sound cliché and old, but where on Earth has this year gone?! It seems like not that long ago I was celebrating new year, or hosting the second Bloggers Unite event. And now here we are, at the tail end of the year, scratching our heads at how quickly time has passed.
The later months are my favourite of the year as I love the cold and all it brings - cozy jumpers, a nice cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows, cuddling up under a warm blanket, and of course, Christmas. I even love Christmas shopping! Well, not when stores are rammed with people trying to get last minute presents, but the idea of picking out gifts for my loved ones. So when I was asked if I wanted to attend the Jo Malone Nottingham boutique for a bit of a pamper and to preview their Christmas range, I was very excited.
There's no denying that Jo Malone has the upper hand in luxury fragrances and products, and that's what makes them perfect for the Christmas season. I'm sure most women out there would be pleased with a gift from Jo Malone this Christmas, and there's no lack of options to choose from. With prices ranging from just £24, there's sure to be something to suit everyones preferences.
This year they've gone with a classy, luxurious kind of Christmas with gorgeous green satin throughout the range. Think roaring fires and chestnuts roasting, stolen kisses under mistletoe, singing and laughter filling the house. With friends and families gathered close by and the exchange of perfectly wrapped gifts on a snowy Christmas morning, and candles flickering as their aroma fills the air.
The Jo Malone boutique store in Nottingham is situated across from one of the entrances to the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre, and pretty much opposite Jamie's Italian. On arrival I was introduced to the staff, who are honestly so friendly and helpful. Plus I was offered a nice hand and arm massage, which was a lovely treat after the week I'd had!
As I'd never shopped at Jo Malone before (does drooling over their website count?), I was able to sample a variety of their key colognes in order to test for my own personal fragrance combo. But where to start? Spicy or Woody? Floral or Fruity? Light Floral or Citrus? With the Jo Malone Colognes there are such a huge selection of scents which can be used alone but when mixed together, can create so many unique combinations.
I was immediately smitten with the 'Peony & Blush Suede' Cologne, which has a crisp top note followed by a gorgeous floral centre with hints of honey. It's such a light and sensual kind of scent that would be perfect for any time of the day or night. For me however, I've found that it smells gorgeous in combination with the lightly floral 'Wild Bluebell' Cologne. A delicately sweet scent alone, when paired with the Peony Cologne it works perfectly to create a scent that is difficult to forget.
English Pear & Freesia Bath Salts - Every girl loves some bath goodies, and this cute little Christmas treat is sure to please! Styled as a box which opens like two doors, it's like you're opening up the doors of the Jo Malone townhouse. Inside the box are 3 square sachets of bath salts, which is a product I haven't seen in a while. This would make the perfect treat for someone who loves their long soaks in the baths - it's a different alternative to bath bombs or bubble soaks.
Christmas Ornament - If bath goodies don't appeal to you, then this little cute combo might. The box itself is rather different as to open it, you have to tug on the little wreath decoration to get inside and see what awaits you. Once opened you're greeted by this cute little mini duo: an 'English Pear & Freesia' Cologne and a 'Nectarine Blossom Honey' Body Créme. In my hand and arm massage I was given firsthand experience of how soft the créme's leave your skin, so I'm definitely adding one of them onto my Christmas list!
Bath & Body Collection - The perfect introduction to Jo Malone, this bath and body set is the perfect treat for anyone who loves a bit of a pamper and a soak in the bath. With an 'Orange Blossom' Body Créme, a 'Blackberry & Bay' Body Soap and a 'Lime Basil & Mandarin' Shower Oil you're given a variety of fragrances which smell gorgeous when combined. Backed with this years classical Christmas green theme, this gift set is definitely one worth splurging on this Christmas.
Travel Candle Collection - If you're a candle lover (hoarder) like me, then look no more - this is definitely the gift you'll want to be adding to your Christmas list! With three different fragrances, this set is the perfect present for anyone who loves their luxury candles. The set even includes a 'Pine & Eucalyptus' candle, which is the perfect festive scent for the Christmas season. Plus it includes my personal favourite, 'Roasted Chestnut'. Liam, I hope you're taking note!
Did you know Jo Malone also do an advent calendar? Priced at £260 it is a bit steep for my budget, but it is truly one of the most luxurious calendars out there, and those who can afford it are in for an amazing treat. I just wish I could have seen it firsthand because the images I was shown make it look spectacular. If you're interested, it's definitely something worth checking out.
There's also a gorgeous Christmas Wreath which I instantly fell in love with. With bright, shiny baubles and a gorgeous deep green satin bow, it would look like something straight out of a classy, American film with it adorned on a door.
Finally, there are two stunning Christmas Crackers available. A luxury version, the 'Ultimate Christmas Cracker', priced at £205 contains full sized indulgent products; the 'Pine and Eucalyptus' Home Candle, 'Lime & Basil' Body Créme, 'Pomegranate Noir' Cologne, and the newly released fragrance 'Mimosa & Cardamom' in the form of a Body and Hand Wash. A cheaper alternative in the form of the smaller 'Christmas Cracker' has three miniature products; the 'Peony & Blush Suede' Body Créme, 'Lime Basil & Mandarin' Body and Hand Wash, and the 'Blackberry & Bay' Cologne. Packaged inside a luxury cracker and priced at £32, it would look fantastic under any Christmas tree.
Jo Malone is definitely one of the brands to invest in this Christmas, as their range of fragrances is phenomenal and would be a perfect gift for anyone, or maybe that special someone.
