Ah, January has officially passed once again, and we're straight into February already. How has all this time passed so quickly? It feels like only yesterday we were preparing for Christmas or getting ready for seeing in the New Year. I swear that with my job, it feels like time passes so quick that it's just a blur. Scary thoughts.
With that, I figured that now would be the perfect time to start featuring some of my favourite products. I tend to switch up products each month just to keep things fresh and interesting, especially when it comes to hair products - I swear my hair gets too used to things otherwise!
No7 'Gel Look' Nail Colour in 'Persian Blue'
For a while last year, I'd stopped painting my nails. For some reason I'd got it in my head that it was more effort than it was worth, especially with work. Chipping and breaking my nails comes naturally in my job unfortunately. However, with the Nailed London base and top coats I received last year, my nails have actually become a bit stronger and more resilient. Combined with this gorgeous deep blue gel look polish from the No7 Cosmetics range, I actually received plenty of comments on how gorgeous my nails looked. 'Persian Blue' is definitely up there as one of my favourite nail colours.
No7 'Protect and Perfect' Intense Hand Cream
I feel like I mention my job a lot, and as much as I love it and what I do, it can have a pretty bad effect on my hands. At the worst point over Christmas my hands had actually gone ridiculously dry from being used so much, and the skin on my fingers actually started to crack down the middle. It was horrible and pretty painful. Thankfully now I wear gloves my skin doesn't suffer quite as bad, but the latex can sometimes be a bit irritable. Now that I've started using the intense 'Protect and Perfect' hand cream, my hands have been noticeably better. It has that nice typical No7 smell to it, and I find it fabulous that it doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy like some other hand creams do. No7 you've got a winner here!
Soap and Glory 'Mist You Madly' Body Spray
If there's one thing I love about Boots apart from No7, its the Soap and Glory range. Have you ever smelt any of their products? They smell delicious! So when I had a few advantage card points built up I figured I could treat myself to one of their body mist sets. The 'Mist You Madly' body mist has to be one of my favourites, and its the perfect size to pop into my bag and take to work. It has that sweet Soap and Glory scent to it, and it actually lasts on the skin pretty well. It makes me feel like a bit of a Princess when I put it on!
Zoeva 'En Taupe' Eyeshadow Palette
O.M.G. Where do I start with this palette? I actually think I'm in love! I received this from Liam for Christmas, and since then I've hardly used any other eyeshadows. Each colour is rich and highly pigmented, and I'd probably put money on the fact that they're actually more pigmented than Urban Decay palettes. And that's for a fraction of the price too! There's a selection of matte, satin, pearl and glittery shades, and I can happily say that every shade could be used for everyday wear. I do have my favourites that I can count on though, and my top ones have to be 'Handmade', 'Sheers & Voiles', 'Outline' and 'Wrapped In Silk'. Liam knows me so well!
Rimmel London 'Kate's Shadow Sticks' in Rose Gold
Ah, who doesn't love a good rose gold product? I'm sure most bloggers are always looking at rose gold products with love in their eyes, and this shadow stick was no exception for me. The shadow glides on like a dream and is really rich and creamy, as well as being really quite pigmented. If you're feeling really adventurous it could even be used as an eyeliner!
MAC 'Whirl' Matte Lipstick
Ah, of course a MAC product would find it's way into my favourites somewhere. I'm sure everyone knows about 'Whirl' by now, and if you don't...just think Kylie Jenner and you're on point! Not too long ago the infamous lip pencil was given a lipstick counterpart, and since then I've fallen completely head over heels in love. It's a gorgeous rosy-brown colour with a beautiful matte finish. I love matte shades but often I can find them quite drying on my lips - but with this one, not so much! A little of my yummy Lush lip balm beforehand and I'm all set!
Lush 'No Drought' Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo is my saviour hands down. Heck, I'm sure it is for anyone as lazy with their hair as me. The 'No Drought' dry shampoo from Lush has saved my 'do so many times it's impossible to count. It has a yummy citrus scent to it, and instantly perks dull hair up, giving it a nice, fresh feel. It took a while for me to get used to as it's not a spray like other dry shampoos - all you have to do is tip the bottle into your hand until you get the amount you need, then it's just trying to slap it on where it's needed without getting it everywhere!
'Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection' for PS4
I have my good friend Amélie from work to blame for this one! We're constantly talking about gaming when we get going at work, and after I'd finished 'Until Dawn' I was pretty much in desperate need of something new to play! So when Amélie mentioned she'd been playing Uncharted (remastered for the PS4), I got a little bit too excited. I can remember playing Uncharted 3 on the PS3 what feels like years and years ago! So whilst it's a bit of an odd one out amongst the beauty products, I just couldn't resist.
January has been a good start to the year, and I'm actually excited to see what 2016 has in store. This year has so many special things coming up; planning our wedding abroad for 2017, Liam's 25th birthday, wedding dress shopping and so, so much more. 2015 was a difficult year for us, so I'm happy jumping into 2016 headfirst - it's time to own this year, and make so many memories to cherish for years to come.
Do you have any exciting plans for this year? Or something you're looking forward to? Maybe you have a recommendation for me from some of your own favourites? Let me know in the comments below!
