A few years back, I didn't really have much of a skincare routine. Most days ended with me just wiping my makeup off with a baby wipe (beauty blogger sin no. 1 I know) before falling down into bed and refusing to move for the rest of the night. At the time I was blessed with pretty blemish-free skin so I figured I could skip the night time routine. Boy oh boy how wrong I was.
Since I started blogging, I have finally seen the error of my ways (about time really), so now I actually give my skin some much needed TLC. Don't get me wrong, maybe once or twice after a stressful day at work I tend to revert to just a baby wipe - I'm not perfect after all!
At the beginning of the month, I wrote about my 'Winter Skincare Essentials', and two fantastic products from Merumaya made the cut: the 'Overnight Recharge' Night Cream (which I've been using for well over a year now) and the 'Everything Everywhere' Beauty Oil.

Merumaya's 'Overnight Recharge' Night Cream has wormed its way into my heart over the past year or two, and now I honestly can't imagine my life without it. Don't get me wrong, I change my skincare products frequently enough so that my skin doesn't get used to it, but their night cream is one that I always go back to. It has a gorgeous scent to it as well, and a little really does go a long way.
The cream applies well and is easily massaged into the skin, whilst not feeling overly greasy on the face. It's also unbelievably hydrating too - never underestimate the power of a nourishing face cream! I suffer with really bad dry skin, so there's a noticeable difference if I miss a day or two. As an added bonus, the cream also helps to fight signs of fatigue, which is good if you're like me getting very little sleep! It's the perfect cream to use if you need to look refreshed the next morning.
It has to be noted at this point that a while back, I'd never really heard of beauty oils. And when they did start becoming popular, I was a little bit weary. For some reason I always thought that if I used an oil in my skincare routine, then my skin would get greasy and in turn cause breakouts. Thankfully Merumaya have changed my thoughts when it comes to oils, all thanks to their fabulous 'Everything Everywhere' Beauty Oil.
The packaging on the oil is sleek and minimal, plus it comes with a pipette to help easily get only a couple of drops out to mix with the night cream. I'm amazed at how well and long this oil is lasting too; like the night cream, a little definitely goes a long way. There's a light scent to the oil, but nothing too overpowering or sickly. It's really quite soothing and hydrating, and as it's left to soak in for a while overnight, it helps skin look a little more lively the next morning.
Another interesting use of the beauty oil is that it can be used in a variety of different ways, not just for the face. Whilst I have yet to try a drop or two on my hair, I have used it on my hands and I was pretty amazed at the results. On occasion my hands can become quite dry and tight, but this oil mixed with my hand lotion gives them a much needed boost and makes them feel softer and as good as new.
Altogether, I'm seriously impressed with this formidable duo from Merumaya. Alone they are already pretty good products, but when used together they are definitely a force to be reckoned with. My outlook on beauty oils has changed, and in future I'll definitely be open to trying similar products!
