There's not many things out there that feel as good as a decent manicure. To me, I always feel so much better after I've given myself and my hands some much needed TLC, as well as giving them a nice coat of nail polish. 90% of the time painting my nails feels like it takes forever, but in all fairness most of it is trying to narrow it down to that perfect colour!
Red nails are always a good choice. No matter the season, it always seems that red nail polish never gets old and can be worn for pretty much any occasion. They give off that kind of sophisticated vibe, always looking effortless and classic. And thats why red nails are one of the things I always go back to - you can never go wrong with them!
Ciaté 'Showgirl' - This is my first Ciaté nail polish, and I can tell you now it's not going to be my last! I love this colour because it's a bit different to the other reds that I have, as it has more pink kind of tones. It takes a good few layers to build up a decent cover, but my favourite way to use it is to have a deeper red base with a coat or two of 'Showgirl' on top.
Models Own Diamond Luxe 'Heart Red' - Ah Models Own, a brand that's always a winner in my eyes. 'Heart Red' is a stunning, vibrant shade of bold red, with specks of glitter throughout. The glitter gives it that something different that makes it stand out, and it looks gorgeous when it catches the light.
Models Own HyperGel 'Red Lustre' - Another favourite from Models Own, I adore the HyperGel range. They give the perfect gel-like look, without any of the hassle of an in salon manicure. Plus, 'Red Lustre' is the perfect colour for match days - yeah, I have a special nail polish for days at the City Ground. Dedicated Forest fan over here!
China Glaze 'Ruby Pumps' - I have the lovely Natalie to thank for introducing me to China Glaze last year. I'd seen the brand here and there for a while in the beauty blogging world, but never really thought to give them a try. But I'm so glad I now have a few of their polishes because they are honestly amazing! 'Ruby Pumps' is a nice, deeper red, akin to Dorothy's shoes in The Wizard Of Oz (stating the obvious here ha). It's a hardening polish too, which is perfect for me as my nails tend to break a lot at work.
No7 Gel Finish 'Red Velvet' - I picked this polish up at Christmas last year as a No7 limited edition. It's similar to the Models Own HyperGel, but is a deeper more mulled wine kind of colour. Like the HyperGel range, the No7 Gel Finish range gives nails a gel like quality with minimal hassle, and it also helps strengthen the nails a bit so they are less likely to chip or snap.

With every manicure I also love to use my Nailed London base coat and top coat to give any polish that gel-like look, and to dry it all off with my Champneys Manicure set (review to come soon - honestly, it will change the way you do your nails forever). So what are your favourite red nail polishes, have any recommendations on what I should try next? Let me know in the comments below!
