Dry Skin Saviour - No7 'Beautiful Skin' Dry Skin Rescue

Dino's Beauty - Meet My Dry Skin Saviour

Suffering with dry skin is, for lack of a better term, a ballache. To stay on top of it and keep any signs of it at bay under my makeup, I have to be ridiculously thorough with my skincare routine. Exfoliators, day creams, intensive night creams, beauty oils, serums - you name it, it's probably already in my routine somewhere.

So when I saw in my local Boots store that No7 had a balm specifically for helping with bad dry skin, I figured I could give it a shot. At the time my skin seemed to be at its worst, and no matter what products I used nothing seemed to work. It got to the point that I couldn't even wear foundation anymore as it only seemed to highlight the problem. My confidence took a pretty good knock, and I had nothing to lose.

No7 have long been one of my top brands, ever since I was younger and first got into beauty. Their skincare products are some of my favourites, and there's almost always a couple of their items in my routine. One of the things that I love the most about them is the fact that they have different ranges for different skin types: dry, normal, oily etc. Each range has different products to help with the problem type, ranging from creams and serums to face masks and cleansers.

'The weather, central heating and daily stresses can take a toll on your skin resulting in dry, flaky patches. No7 'Beautiful Skin' Dry Skin Rescue is an intensely hydrating multi-purpose balm, formulated with nourishing shea and cocoa butters and enriched with skin loving vitamins and minerals. The balm provides an instant and long lasting moisture hit to relieve, soothe and visibly improve dry patches.'

Coming in a 50ml tube the Dry Skin Rescue seems pretty small, but trust me when I say a little goes a very long way. Slightly thicker in consistency than a regular cream, the balm spreads easily and sinks in quickly, and that's with a dollop slightly smaller than a 50p coin. It only has a slight smell to it too, like the standard fragrance for No7 products, giving it that little bit of a luxury feel.

Once applied, I tend to give the balm around 5-10 minutes to really soak in and get to work before I apply my makeup for the day. Afterwards I'm always seriously amazed at how well the skin rescue works - my skin feels a lot softer, and the tightness I normally feel is practically nonexistent. Applying my foundation afterwards, it goes on practically without any issues, bar a couple of dry patches here and there. Even though there are a couple of problem areas, they feel a lot more hydrated and tend not to be as noticeable, which I'd take any day over skin that feels like it's cracking. Win win in my opinion!

I've been using this for a good few months now to get a proper feel for it, and I'm still constantly amazed at the results. My skin feels like it can breathe a little more, and doesn't look as tight, dull or patchy. Overall I'd say if you suffer with bad skin as much as I do, then you will benefit greatly from adding this little balm to your routine. It works wonders, I promise!
