Ah, MAC. Their lipsticks are loved and desired throughout the blogging world, with numerous celebrity ranges selling out almost instantly. In all honesty, I'm not even sure I know a blogger who doesn't own a MAC lipstick now that I think of it...
Back when I first started blogging, I was pretty innocent when it came to MAC. I'm sure I only owned a couple of their pigment pots which I'd managed to snag online, and I'd certainly never ventured into one of their stores. At that point, I wasn't even in to lipsticks - I much preferred a simple lipbalm or gloss!
In August 2014 I attended one of my first few blogging events in Sheffield (the #NorthernBloggerMeetUp), and I'm so glad I managed to push my nerves aside and go for it. After all, I have that meet to thank for introducing me to my now best friend Hannah (of the blog HannerKing - go check it out, this girl is crazy talented and her blog is one of my favourite reads). Anyway, Hannah is a big lover of lipstick, and I have her to thank for making me a convert. Hannah, if you're reading this - I owe you big time!

So since that event back in 2014, I have racked up quite a considerably large lipstick collection. With brands ranging from high end to drugstore, Charlotte Tilbury to Makeup Revolution, I have a pretty decent selection to pick from. Whilst I do love so many of them, none of them can quite compare to my MAC collection (I'm super impressed with the selection I have). It could be something to do with the gorgeous sleek black packaging, or the quality of each lipsticks pigmentation, but for the price you pay for one lipstick I have to say they are worth every penny. Anyway, it was incredibly hard to narrow down my favourite shades, so I figured I could share my top used lipsticks from MAC. Warning: this post may contain high amounts of swooning. You have been warned.
MAC 'Velvet Teddy' Matte Lipstick - Ah, who hasn't heard of 'Velvet Teddy' by now? Made infamous by Kylie Jenner, it is the perfect nude lipstick for everyday wear. A gorgeous brown/nude shade, 'Velvet Teddy' is one of my go-to lipsticks if I'm ever stuck debating on which one to go for - it never fails to impress! Both this lipstick and 'Twig' are my favourite nude lipsticks to rock for an everyday, effortless look.
MAC 'Twig' Satin Lipstick - I don't know how I never noticed until now that this lipstick is actually a satin one, instead of my favourite matte finish. It looks slightly pinker in tone and in all honesty may have slightly overtaken 'Velvet Teddy' as my favourite lipstick to wear. I love how it looks with my skin tone as it seems to work well with my pale skin, without making me look too washed out or ill. The staying power of this lipstick is fantastic too - more often than not, I hardly need to reapply 'Twig' throughout the day!
MAC 'Whirl' Matte Lipstick - A relatively new addition to MACs matte lipstick range, 'Whirl' was yet another well known MAC product used by Kylie Jenner, but rather a lip pencil instead of a lipstick. So when I got wind of it being released as a lipstick, you can bet I was more than a little excited. It's a gorgeous kind of rose brown colour, and the first day I wore this out I got quite a few compliments on the colour. It's thick and manages to stay put well, with a matte finish which thankfully isn't drying on the lips. In my opinion, this is a lipstick that every lipstick lover needs in their collection, ASAP.
MAC Rocky Horror 'Frank-N-Furter' Matte Lipstick - A limited edition product, 'Frank-N-Furter' is actually my first ever MAC lipstick! I picked this up when Liam took me to Paris, and I'm quite surprised that I managed to pick up the last one in store. A deep raspberry wine kind of colour, this is one of my go to red shades (I actually did a post on my top red lipsticks which you can find here).
MAC 'Instigator' Matte Lipstick - Okay, so I'm seeing a bit of a theme with the matte lipsticks here. But in my defence, I think that the matte lipsticks from MAC are one of the best selling points. A gorgeous plum colour, this is a bit darker than any other lipstick I normally wear but I think that's why I love 'Instigator' so much. It has blue undertones, which I had to take a gamble on with suiting my skin tone. Thankfully it paid off, and with a matte finish it looks fab with a smoky eye.
Whilst it was ridiculously hard trying to narrow down which MAC lipsticks are my favourites (there are so many choices, come on guys, you understand right?), I am pretty impressed with my final choices. Plus I have a go-to lipstick from the nudes, the reds and the plums - winning!
