Somehow, I can't quite believe we're almost halfway through May already. I'm pretty sure I say it every month, but where is this year going?! Next month will mark my 24th birthday (slightly depressing for me), as well as us being officially halfway to Christmas 2016 (something I look forward to more than my birthday anyway).

So we're well on our way to summer already - how crazy is that? Over April we've had weather from each end of the spectrum, ranging from freezing cold one night to boiling hot the next...so who knows what the weather will actually be like when we hit the summer months? Oh England...you've just got to love your crazy, unpredictable weather haven't you?!

One of the things I've been focusing on a lot more recently has been caring for my skin. I've always been on top of caring for my face, but when it comes to anywhere else I've always lagged a bit behind. And the place that suffers most for me? My arms. It seems that dry skin isn't just confined to my face after all!

On top of my skincare, I've also recently been putting more effort into my haircare and styling. Shockingly it wasn't until I started blogging that I actually started doing something with my hair, which is probably a huge beauty blogger sin on my part. Sorry guys! Anyway, one of the things I've come to love most since I started blogging has to be hair oils - they're a miracle product, honestly! I don't know how I went for so long without them, and since then my hair has never looked better. Especially when it comes to my number one product: the 'Argan Oil Illuminate' oil from Keratin Revolution (you can check out my full review here).

Up until I started beauty blogging, I was pretty in the dark about eye creams and what they could actually do for you. I knew my mum used one every now and then but never really figured they'd be much use for me. But boy how wrong was I! No7's own 'Vitality Eye Roll-On' has been working wonders for me recently, and I've even noticed that the area around my eyes (especially underneath) no longer looks dull and tired. Whilst it seems like quite a small product at first, you only really need to squeeze a minimal amount and massage the product in gently to get it's full effect. I have to give this product quite a bit of praise too, as unlike any other eye creams it has a sheer touch of pink to it to help give an added glow.

Another one of my favourites this month comes again from No7 with their 'Protect & Perfect: Intense Body Serum', which has to be one of my favourite body products of all time. I've never really used skincare products with a higher price tag before as I'm always slightly wary, but this product is easily one I wouldn't mind splashing out on again and again and...well, you get it. As someone who suffers badly with dry skin on both face and body - I can happily say that this intense serum is fantastic at giving skin a much needed moisture boost. Apart from my face, my upper arms tend to suffer quite badly with dry patches too, which can often make me feel uncomfortable. Thankfully though this body serum does it all - it helps give my skin a bit of a breather and makes it feel less tight, as well as being nourishing without leaving a greasy residue.

As a seriously pale girl and someone who suffers from rosaeca, I'm often paranoid about the constant red patches on both my face and body. It may not seem like much, but trust me it does get to you - I'm constantly asked if I'm feeling okay because my skin looks really flushed and red, and after a while it does chip away at your confidence. So whenever I see makeup or skincare products that promise to help with redness I'm all for giving them a try - especially when I saw The Body Shop's own 'Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion'. I've always been a massive fan of tea tree and I love how strong and refreshing it smells, and the fact that it helps calm down red tinged skin was another bonus in my eyes. I love sticking some of this on overnight to really help it do its magic, and I have to admit it does a damn good job. Whilst it doesn't get rid of the redness completely, it does help tone it down to more of a manageable level.

As pretty much everyone knows, there's nothing I love more than a good lip product. Be that a scrub, balm or colour, you can never have too many in your arsenal. I actually stumbled across this beauty a little while back when I went into Derby in search of the foundation adjusting drops (#palegirlproblems). Whilst the lightening drops were sadly out of stock, I couldn't help but notice this cute little beehive style pot. As part of the Honey Bronze range, the 'Honey Bronze Shimmering Lip Balm' helps give your lips a subtle glow with a delicious and delicate honey scent. I love how this helps hydrate my lips without being too runny, and it gives my lips a much needed little champagne glow when I'm at work without being too over the top.

So as I mentioned before, hair oils and serums are kind of my thing right now. Whilst I do love Keratin Revolution's own oil, it is pretty interesting to shake things up every now and then - and Toni & Guy's 'Glamour Serum Drops' is the perfect product to start with. Oils always amaze me with how thick they are and how easily they spread, and I can't believe how little you actually need. Especially when your hair is as long as mine! Whilst I did need to use more of this than other oils, it didn't leave my hair feeling too bogged down with product or greasy. I have to admit, I was pretty impressed with how well the serum helped tame frizz and how polished my hair felt and looked afterwards. As a bonus it smells pretty darn good too!

So as we head on into warmer days, it becomes more and more necessary to change up products and play around with things a little. I can pretty much see my next favourites now, especially with how hot these past few days have been: suntan lotions and aftersun products here I come!
