Apologies all round over here. It's been a while since I last posted due to unforeseen consequences, and I feel pretty bad about it. My blog is like my baby, and I love investing my time into something which has grown, helped me to build my confidence and given me some fantastic best friends along the way.
Possibly one of the best ways to jump back in is with a Melt Crowd post - one of my favourite subscription boxes out there amongst countless others. A couple of years ago I signed up to a beauty subscription box, and whilst I loved it there were a couple of things in each box that I wouldn't necessarily use myself. In the end, I cancelled my subscription because I was getting a build up of products that would never be used.
So when Flamingo Candles started their own version but with wax melts, I couldn't wait to sign up. I've been known to be a bit of a fanatic when it comes to candles - I can't help it, I'm a bit of a hoarder! And ever since I signed up I've loved pretty much every box - especially November's which is my favourite so far. No box has made me as happy as that one, but this months box parks itself at a very, very close second.
'Cactus' Scent Melt - I have to say, when I first opened this months box and saw the name, I was slightly dubious. Once I got round to it though, I'm actually pretty impressed. Now I can't comment on if this melt is true to it's name, but it does smell fresh and uplifting. It's the kind of thing that would really quite wake you up in a morning, but isn't as strong or harsh as coffee.
'Welsh Cakes' Scent Melt - Whilst I'm all for some yummy baking, I can't say I've ever had a 'welsh cake' before. This melt does smell pretty tasty, but with more of a cinnamon underdone to it thats pretty powerful. Unfortunately I've never been a fan of cinnamon, so I doubt I'll be using this anytime soon.
'Costal Path' Scent Melt - Ah, welcome to my second favourite melt of the box. 'Costal Paths' is a gorgeous, fresh kind of melt. It's instantly uplifting and relaxing at the same time - I love it because you can just imagine you're sat on a beach relaxing with this melt. This candle will be going on my to-buy list that's for sure!
'Tropical Coconut Milk & Honey' Scent Melt - As I mentioned before, I'm not a fan of cinnamon - the same can be said for coconut unfortunately. So when I saw this melt I was pretty doubtful at first, but thankfully I shouldn't have worried! Mixed with the gorgeous scent of honey, this melt is delicious and warming.
'I Carried A Watermelon' Scent Melt - This melt right here is undoubtedly my favourite of the entire box, and not just for it's cheeky reference to one of my favourite films of all time. I love pretty much most fruity scents, and whilst Flamingo Candles are always on point with fruity melts, I can't recall ever seeing a watermelon one. This melt is so delicious and packed full of flavour that it smells almost edible.
'WILD White Musk' Scent Melt - Tied with 'Costal Path', 'White Musk' is a lovely warm and relaxing melt that's perfect to put on if you want to wind down for the evening. It has a familiar fragrance to it, but it's one that I can't quite put my finger on. Even so, it's good enough to creep it's way into my favourites!
'Lilac' Scent Melt - I'm not sure what this melt reminds me of, but either way it smells darn good. To me it's quite a summer-y smelling melt, and if sniffed enough (as I tend to do, thanks to FC's amazing variety of scents) you can just about make out a small fruity edge to it. Delicious.
'Black Tea & Almond' Scent Melt - It seems Flamingo Candles are determined to change my opinion on some of the things I don't normally like, and turn them upside down into something strangely appealing. I've only ever had one cup of tea before, and ever since I've not really been a fan. Well, if it smelt as good as this melt does I'd have to change my mind. The almond is quite a strong tone to be mixed with, but both of these ingredients mixed together makes one deliciously appealing melt.
Altogether I have to say that this months box has been one of the best so far. With a few melts containing things I've never really been a fan of, I was actually pleasantly surprised - I wasn't expecting to be liking coconut anytime soon anyway!
