There are very few things a girl can love more than a beautiful perfume. Trust me I should know - I'm a bit of an obsessive when it comes to fragrances! In fact, I have an entire shelf full of the stuff...and I still don't think I have enough. A girl can never have enough perfumes...that's how the saying goes, right?
Sanctuary have always been one of those brands that I've loved for as long as I can remember, and I can honestly say I don't think I've ever been disappointed or let down by any of their products. Mainly known for their indulgent bathing, it may come as a surprise that Sanctuary have also branched out into other areas - they now sell reed diffusers, candles and even a signature fragrance!
When I first saw a Sanctuary Eau De Toilette on the shelves in Boots, I was both curiously excited and slightly doubtful. One of the things I love the most about Sanctuary is that gorgeous, luxurious aroma - it's definitely a unique fragrance that's for sure. But would it even be possible to capture that perfect Sanctuary signature scent as a perfume?
Turns out there was no need for doubt at all - the eau de toilette is the perfect addition to Sanctuary's product line. At £16.50 for the bottle, it is one of the more expensive items in the Sanctuary range, and as an Eau De Toilette you do have to spray it more often than you would an Eau De Parfum. But, if you're like me and think its worth that small sacrifice, then you'll fall completely in love with this perfect handbag sized spray.
As I mentioned before, Sanctuary products typically have that beautiful, unique fragrance to them (unless you purchase from a different range instead of the Classic products), and that has been perfectly captured in this little bottle. A beautiful light and floral scent, the classic fragrance is ideal for everyday use. It's not too overpowering either like other perfumes I've had trouble with in the past - I found out the hard way that if a fragrance is too powerful or strong, it will give me a bit of a migraine!
The bottle itself is also beautiful - it's a simple design yes, but for me it works. Whenever I've been in a store sampling perfumes before, I kind of automatically avoid bottles with garish, in your face designs. In all honesty, an ugly bottle puts me straight off (shallow I know) - it just makes me think that if the bottle is unappealing, then the perfume will be too. A sad thought, but thats why the Sanctuary Classic bottle appeals to me so much - its simple and understated, but thats what makes it look classy and elegant. Plus it's ideal for slipping into your handbag - it's not bulky enough to take up much space or heavy enough to add more weight, and it's not too small either to get lost in your bag (if your bag is a tardis like mine).
