Christmas is here! Well, not yet, but you get my drift. With only 11 days to go until the big day, it seems like everyone is already in the festive spirit. I can remember years ago when I was at uni and worked part time, I used to dread Christmas. Pretty much a few days after Halloween ended they always used to crack out the Christmas decorations and the music - I hated that damn music! There's only so many times a girl can listen to Christmas carols before she cracks. Thankfully now that I'm out of retail, I can take a small breath and finally get into the Christmas spirit - no more Emma Scrooge!

For many guys out there, I can imagine Christmas is a very stressful time - what do you get that special girl in your life? Your wife, fiancé, girlfriend or even your mum? My mum is one of the most ridiculously awkward people ever to buy for, so trust me I feel your pain. But in the end, you can never go wrong with a good perfume, and they're not as hard to come by as you may think. Superdrug have fantastic offers, and so do Boots - they even do special 'Star Gifts' every week up until Christmas, and every week there will be a different fragrance on offer. All the more reason to go for it, am I right?

Ever since we went to Paris a couple of years ago (wow, it does not feel that long ago) where I got a sample, I've been in love with Yves Saint Laurent's 'Manifesto' eau de parfum. YSL are a brand known for their luxury beauty, and I can't say I've ever had a product from them that I've not seriously fallen for. Manifesto is no different - just look at how cute this bottle looks, and it just screams elegance. The packaging is minimal but feminine, and I really dig the contrast of the gold and purple. Coming in a few sizes, the prices can tip over into expensive territory at around £70+, but if you're like me and love a good bargain, you'll be able to find it on offer more often than not over at Boots.

The scent is beautiful and feminine, and I find it quite intoxicating myself. When it comes to perfumes, I love having a couple of high end ones that I keep to one side for special occasions, and Manifesto makes its way into that category. With a mainly floral based aroma, theres a small amount of sweetness you can detect in the scent, and its slightly musky too. There's a slight berry twist to it that keener noses may be able to detect, and it's a combination of a variety of fragrance families to give one unique kind of scent. Add in some wood tones with a hint of vanilla and you have a pretty strong contender for favourite perfume of the year over here. Something about the perfume is quite warming, and it makes me feel all cozy when I'm wearing it. A strange comparison I know, but I didn't know how else to word it!

This perfume has received its fair share of compliments too whenever I've worn it, from both family and friends alike. Personally I'd say this perfume could be suited for anyone as a Christmas gift, it's one of those rare fragrances that could fit anyone and everyone. It's a tad expensive depending on the size you get, but every girl deserves a luxury fragrance in my eyes so it's worth the cost. Overall, if you're debating on this perfume or another, I'd be more inclined to lean towards this one - trust me, you won't regret it!
