If there's one thing Lushies go crazy for when it comes to Lush beauty products, it has to be the Christmas range released every year in late Autumn time. I know I certainly do - I'm always excited to get my hands on another bottle of 'Snow Fairy', a few 'See The Stars' bath bombs and some festive shower jelly! Plus, as an added bonus, this year I received the 'Christingle' Body Conditioner as a gift - and it's been part of my beauty regime ever since.
A rather unique product in my eyes, Christingle is touted as a body conditioner that you use in the shower. Interesting. A baby blue cream with relatively thick consistency, the conditioner comes in the standard Lush black recycled pot and retails for £16.50 for 225g. Whilst the price may seem steep for what you think is essentially just a fancy smelling moisturiser, if you consider say the No7 'Protect and Perfect' creams retail for £25 a pot half Christingle's size, I'd say you're getting a pretty decent deal. Containing ingredients such as jojoba oil and murumuru butter, the conditioner is incredibly moisturising and hydrating for the skin. Plus, with both menthol crystals and spearmint, it's cooling and soothing on the skin, which is something I'm always happy to keep on hand. I always tend to get quite hot easily and rather uncomfortable, and only as of recently I've started using cooling products like this one.
One things for me that sets Christingle apart from any other products has to be its relatively unique application. Instead of being like your run of the mill moisturiser, Christingle is instead designed for use in the shower - once in, you lather up, rub in, rinse off and go. It's a different concept to me, and it's thicker than your average shower products so you work it into the skin more in the shower instead of using a separate moisturiser once you're out. Once out of the shower I've found that it's best to gently pat the skin dry to ensure all the moisture is kept on the skin, and it's incredible how soft and supple my skin felt afterwards. Plus, as well as being incredibly cooling and soothing on the skin, it works a dream on dry skin too - sometimes I suffer with quite bad dry patches on the tops of my arms, but after using Christingle and letting it settle in, the dry skin had pretty much disappeared!
With regards to its scent the conditioner is strong and minty thanks to the notes of spearmint, and I have to say it's highly refreshing. If there's one thing guaranteed to wake you up in the morning it's this product - it smells fresh, uplifting and gives you a bit of a perk first thing in the morning, aswell as giving you a bit of drive to get through the day. It's not too strong or overpowering either which is something I struggle with when it comes to minty scents - thankfully though Christingle straddles that line to give a gentle and pleasant aroma. The scent isn't too strong after it's been applied either, but rather leaves a delicate trace on the skin for a while afterwards.
Overall Christingle is a fantastic product to use in the shower to give skin an added moisture boost, especially if you're like me and a little lazy once you get out and forget to moisturise. I'd say it's ideal for use during your first shower of the day - it really helps wake you up and get prepared for the day ahead. Have you used Christingle before? What are your thoughts?
