Every couple of months or so in the beauty industry there comes along a product that seems to take it by storm and get people talking. It's that one product that beauty bloggers start to lust over, going crazy over the latest reviews before eventually breaking their self imposed shopping bans and giving in to their impulses - and I'd be lying if I said I was any different. This time around? Meet the 'Sweet Peach' eyeshadow palette from Too Faced.
With a lot of hype surrounding the Sweet Peach palette, it comes as no suprise that upon its release in the US, the palette sold out pretty much instantaneously. Sold exclusively at Debenhams in the UK, the limited edition range also includes a beautiful 'Highlight and Glow' palette as well as some stunning lipgloss shades. In all honesty, I could just go crazy right now and buy every single product, but my bank account (and Liam) will more than likely kill me, so for now I'm going to preoccupy myself with this gorgeous 18-shade palette.
Packaging is crucial when it comes to beauty products - it is what draws us in initially after all! And when it comes to Too Faced, they are pretty much the Kings or Queens of packaging - just look at the PB&J palette, or the Grande Hotel Cafe set for example! Packaged beautifully in a long, rectangular tin a la Too Faced's perfect design, the palette boasts 18 different shades across the peach spectrum.
With shades ranging from beautiful corals to gorgeous bronzes, theres sure to be a few shades to suit everyones preferences. There's even a cheeky green and a couple of black shades thrown in for good measure! With a mix of different finishes too, theres guaranteed to be endless combinations of looks to create - satin, glitter, matte - you name it, this palette has it. In true Too Faced fashion the palette is also scented - now I've never had the chance to smell the infamous chocolate palettes, but if they smell anywhere near as good as this one, I'm completely sold. It has a soft and sweet peachy fruit scent to it, but it's not too overpowering or strong. It's detectable once you open the palette, but once transferred to the face the scent seems to sadly dissipate.
White Peach - Swatching as more of a very light beige shade, 'White Peach' is the perfect shade to use for a delicate sweep below the brow to highlight the brow bone.
Luscious - A beautiful metallic copper tone, 'Luscious' is seriously pigmented and swatches like a dream. It actually reminds me of the 'Weenie' Super Shock Eyeshadow from Colourpop.
Just Peachy - A stunning rosy pink with golden undertones, 'Just Peachy' is a beautiful shade that has a lovely finish once applied to the lid. Sometimes on days when I can't be bothered to do a full face of makeup I'll sweep a bit of this on the eyelid and be good to go.
Bless Her Heart - An olive green shade, you can just about detect a small amount of gold glimmer in the pan too. It looks like quite a deep shade but applies a lot lighter with a shimmering finish.
Tempting - I don't know where to start with this shade - it looks like a very deep black colour, but swatches as more of a dark brown colour with a slight glitter to it. I love working this into my crease and blending with one of the lighter shades of the pan to create a bold eye.
Charmed, I'm Sure - A matte brown shade, 'Charmed I'm Sure' swatches nicely but for me doesn't compare to some of the other shades in the palette.
Nectar - A delicate golden shade with a frosted finish, 'Nectar' has warm undertones and looks beautiful on the skin.
Cobbler - Similar to Luscious, 'Cobbler' is a slightly darker copper colour which is seriously pigmented once swatched. It has a metallic finish and looks beautiful on the eye.
Candied Peach - This one surprised me as it looks a lot different on the skin than in the palette. It's more of an orange tone than pink with a matte finish, and to me it just didn't look right with my skin tone.
Bellini - Ah, 'Bellini', my favourite shadow of the palette. It's a light peach-pink and has a golden shimmer to it that really shows through when it catches the light. With a frosty finish it really does look beautiful on the skin. Just look at that swatch!
Peach Pit - A very deep brown with red tones, 'Peach Pit' swatches beautifully like the other shades with a satin finish, and I love combining it with 'Bellini' for a gorgeous peachy smoky eye.
Delectable - A matte purple kind of shade, 'Delectable' is definitely a different shade to any others in the palette. I like it, but I can't see myself using it much.
Peaches 'N Cream - A light peach colour with yellowish undertones, 'Peaches 'N Cream' has a matte finish and is great to use in the corner of the eye or as a general base shade.
Georgia - Another matte shade, 'Georgia' is a soft peachy orange that looks pretty, soft and natural.
Caramelized - Wow, I love this shade - just look at that pigmentation. It's a gorgeous warm bronze with a lovely shimmer finish, and it blends out nicely compared to some of the other shades.
Puree - A caramel brown colour with a matte finish, it has slight reddish tones to it which is beautiful, however I found it a little frustrating in terms of blending as it just wouldn't work the way I wanted it to with other shades.
Summer Yum - Another red toned shadow, I actually found this really similar to Puree and struggled with making it blend properly.
Talk Derby To Me - Whilst it looks quite dark and intimidating in the palette, 'Talk Derby To Me' is actually quite a soft black shade with a purple sheen to it. It takes a few swipes to build up the colour on this one, but theres a small trace of glitter too to soften the shade.
Altogether, you can tell why there's a lot of hype surrounding this eyeshadow palette - it is beautiful, and it has some truly stunning shades. For £39 you get 18 shades, which to me seems worth the cost when you consider that Urban Decay palettes are the same price for considerably less. I've got so much use out of this palette since buying it, its honestly perfect for everyday use and there's endless looks to be created.
